As I head towards Nicaragua, the airlines’ marketing departments have made sure that the route that is “most convenient for me” has at least three connections. The first is in Brussels; the second is in Chicago. I have flown a very similar route across the Atlantic before, and I know that I will be able to see Greenland through the window, so I succumb to the airline’s aggressive advertising and book a window seat on the right-hand side of the plane. I also knew that I would take a daytime picture. Nobody guaranteed that there would be no clouds, but I would regret it if I did not try. There were clouds, but I had the opportunity to see the south-east coast of Greenland, the mountains, and the fjords. I don’t regret in the slightest that I had to pay more for the choice of location. I got more than the greedy airline salesman.
